Chage speed & duplex mode on Appliance Server

Post by faconeti »

Hi,
I need to deactivate the autonegotiation of the ethernet port of an Appliance Server and of a Call Server (common hardware). I have tried with the command ethtool, but on having restarted, it stays in the initial condition. Also I have tried in the BIOS.

Someone knows since I can force the speed to 100 Mb / Full Duplex?

Thank´s!

P.D: Sorry for my english! i´m spanish

Ye sit works like that - after reboot eth0 is in auto-negotiation mode.
If you REALLY need to set it to 100/Full then you need to play with rc script which starts network. It would take just one line.
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.
