Is GD software upgrade needed with OXE upgrade?

Hi all.

I'll be upgraded OXE system on Appliance Server with Media Gateway with GD board from 8.x software to 10.x sofware and I'm wondering if software on GD board should also be upgraded to the newest version available with 10.x software and if so, what is the upgrade procedure with PC Installer?

Hi Slabr

Yes, the GD boards need to be upgraded for the newest release. But don't worry, GD gets its binaries automatically from CS. When you are with R10 in the CS and GD starts for first time, it sees the new binaries, it gets them from CS and reboots with the new ones.

Thanks a lot for information. So GD board is just like IP Touch - during boot process it checks the binary version and if it has older than in Call Server, the upgrade proces is automatic.

Yes, but you also can do the process manually with PC Installer. TC about PC installer explains it very well.

I know about the posibility but I've no access to BWPS, so can you please send me this TC or attached it on this forum?
