Hi everyone,
I am trying to configure an R7.1 OmniPCX Office so that voicemails left in the general mailbox are forwarded to email.
The two potential solutions I can think of to do this is:
- Directly forward general mailbox to email (I don't think that this is possible - could be wrong).
- Forward general mailbox messages to another mailbox and configure that other mailbox to forward to email (I'm not sure if I can get the automatic forwarding from a general mailbox to another mailbox).
I've trawled through thousands of pages of manual but can't see how this is easily accomplished.
I have access to the OmniPCX OMC, so extra brownie points to anyone who sets out a step by step way for this to occur.

On which scenario does your calls land on General mailbox? Maybe you can use a routing scenario to divert them to a virtual user voice mail.

Scenario incoming call on general DID:
1. Rings receptionist telephone.
2. No answer -> Rings every other phone in the office.
3. No answer -> Diverts to General Mailbox.
Also when the system is set to restricted/ after hours mode, the general DID diverts directly to a general mailbox.
As regards virtual user voice mailboxes, are these able to be forwarded to email? The manual I read seems to indicate that it can't.

You may be right about virtual users (they may not have central services). However you can use an analog unused user imm fwd to vm with central services activated instead of general mb.

The only pitfall to this approach would be that the general mailbox on the operator handset would be broken I presume (and there would be no method to copy voicemail messages to the operator handset).

Make him/her a Feature Key-->Voice Mail Unit-->dialing analog phone used for VM (this can be configured on whatever phone you want)

I'm afraid not.... tot3nkopf is the best workaround - but we didn't implement this because its still not ideal.
