Cannot Add contacts in Instant Messaging

Hi All

I have an issue with instant messaging. I cannot open a dialog box from any menus, thus, I cannot add contacts. When selecting add contacts, the dialog box is not opened. Could it be a firewall issue? The ACS server is on one side of the firewall while the clients is on the other side. I am suspecting a settings on the Internet Options but I really don't know what I'm looking for.

Any advise/help is much appreciated.

Check:
1. SSL certificate installed and valid as trusted one
2. Can you access using Web? If so then go to 1.
If not then check connectivity

Thanks Cavagnaro.

I will have to deal with the SSL certificate, I have a self-signed one at the moment but i will fix this soon. What I found out was that the ActiveX Component installer (pop-up) for My-Teamwork was blocked. I enabled the ActiveX Application Sharing on the Internet options and a few other things (not sure whether they are necessary) and the pop-up appears.

Check the guide, all those options are pointed there to have all working

Hi,

i'm facing the same problem. I can't do anything (add contact is impossible, call or send an instant-message is also impossible) on the thick client (My Instant Communicator). But if i log in via the web-interface of the ACS i can everything. I have installed a trusted ssl certificate and added the ACS-URL to the trusted sites and so.

and what error does MyIC complains about?

I only get an error-message at the login. But this message a also get at the browser-login so i'm not sure if this message has something to do with the error. I have attached a screenshot of the error-message.

It's 6.5 of the UC-Servers and the whole solution is a R2.3 BICS
