Point To Point Circuit

Post by jstephens01 »

Question - I have a P2P circuit. Between the 2 points, i have a an access port with QinQ enabled handoff from a switch into each of my switches on either side. On one side, I am seeing an inconsistent PVID on the Cisco from the Provider's VLAN which should be transparent to me. The only difference on the one side is an Alcatel 6850 that also has QinQ enabled. The error message on the cisco is as follows:

00:01:01: %SPANTREE-2-RECV_PVID_ERR:
Received BPDU with inconsistent peer vlan id 683 on GigabitEthernet0/1 on vlan 1
.
00:01:01: %SPANTREE-2-BLOCK_PVID_LOCAL: Blocking GigabitEthernet0/1 on vlan 1.
Inconsistent local vlan.

ANy suggestions on what could be wrong with the 6850?

hello

You can perhaps send a design with a part of config with what come in and out on access port and QinQ.
But you see in your message you get a bpdu tagged with vlan id 683 on vlan 1 interface.
So cisco control bpdu id value and vlan id interface.

So verify you setup with vlans.

I think if you have for exemple sw1-int5(native vlan 10 ) --------link ------- int5(nativle vlan 1)-sw2
sw2 and sw1 will send message about bpdu isssue .
On alu there is no control on this but i heard on cisco there is one.
