Help on ISDN Faxserver on two 4094 TAs

Post by adn77 »

Hello,

I have to move our fax Server (GFI Faxmaker) from a directly connected provider-based ISDN Point-to-Point to an internal S0 behind our OXO.

I connected two 4094 ISDN TAs and assigned the numbers 400-449 to the first and 500-549 to the second. I setup the ISDN-MSN in the configuration for each port according to the dialing plan numbering.
On the server side I have a dual port AVM C2 ISDN card providing four lines.

Incoming calls are picked up fine by the fax software. On outgoing connections my problems begin:

1.)
Do I have to setup MSNs on the ISDN card itself (driver configuration)? Normally a CAPI application would set the Calling_Party_Number.
By any chance does s.o. know if it is possible to have three digit MSNs with the AVM driver?

2.)
We only use Fax numbers 500-549.
I setup the range 400-449 to also use MSNs 500-549 in the ISDN parameters, and configured an overflow to 400 if 500 was busy (the same for each number up to 549 accordingly).
Is this the best (and yet most complicated) way to configure the PBX for using both ISDN ports on the fax server?

3.)
(sorry, I already asked that in the general forum...)
Using PtP signalling on the 4094 would allow me to get by this complicated setup, yet there is no such option, is there?

All input is very much appreciated,
Alex

regarding 1.)
Forget this, in my OXO the S0 port was limited to internal connections only, that's why I never got an outside line.
For those interested, with the AVM ISDN card, you don't have to set any MSNs while using CAPI applications - the app will take care of this.
