Integrating Asterisk and Alcatel through T1/E1 (PRI) Card

Post by unnis »

We would like to integrate Asterisk and Alcatel systems through T1/E1 (PRI) card. We found a solution which is available in your old discussion forum. We need the following clarification to test the sytem

- In the forum it says that make a cable to connect Asterisk and Alcatel system
- It also says Alcatel end use TY2 96T connector and Asterisk end use normal UTP connector
- They also mentioned about the wire numbers to be used for the connectors

We want to know how we will make the cable and is it possible to provide some pictures of the same for our reference.

Awaiting your early reply with all details.

How to make the cable?

Post by unnis »

It is already answered in old forum but we would like to know how to make the cable to connect both ends. We don't have any clue about the TY2 96PT connector at the Alcatel end. If you can send the details with a picture, would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

TY2 cable:
if you have PRA2 board - pair 1 transmission, pair 2 reception.
for NPRAE - for access 0 pair 1 transmission, pair 2 reception, for access 1 pair 3 transmission, pair 4 reception.

Pair number printed on foil.

We have PRA2 Board on our Alcatel OXO

Post by unnis »

We have PRA2 board on our Alcatel OmniPCX Office system. We would like to know which cable we have to use to for this connectivity. Can you please confimr the following points

Shall we use CAT6 UTP cable or normal telephone cable for this connectivity?
Shall we use RJ45 connectors ot RJ11 connectors at both ends?
Is this setup will work betweeen Switchvox and Alcatel?

Awaiting your early reply with a solution.

By the look of it your Alcatel system is an OxO with the PRA card having 2 RJ45 ports on the front, it this is the case then just use a straight CAT5e or CAT6 patch lead to connect the two systems.

The TYP2 cable has no relevance to this type of hardware.

Depending on your response I will move this thread to a more relevant forum.
