Alcatel R.8 VMWARE instalation pcinstaller

Hi.

My configuration for installing the OmniPCX Entreprise software in a VMware is failed. The pc installer detect OK my virtual machine and begin the instalation, but it asks to me what is the ftp site???

This is the screen:

-----------------------FTP Setup---------------------------

Please enter de following information:
*The name or ip number of your ftp server
*the directory on that server containing red hut linux for yor architecure

Ftp site name: 192.168.1.2 (my pc with /mgrdhsr)
Red hat directory: ?????? (I probe with c:/mgrdhs3, but it does not work)

[ ] use non-anonymous

I probe with any things but I think that the pcinstaller ftp´s it does not work.

My operation system is windows XP SP2...

It seems that your virtual machine is not properly defined. It should be not Red Hat, put the O.S. settings like "other linux 2.4 kernel". Check the Ethernet mode is bridged (or like you want, but VM should reach your computer). Remember to disable the firewall of your PC and put the correct path in swinst: /dhs3mgr/g1xxxx, instead mgrdhs3.

1. VMWare OXE network configuration
2. PC Installer network configuration

I experienced the same issue. The problem was caused by the fact that I had another FTP server running on my PC> Check to make sure that the only one is the pc installer

Yes, I had another FTP server running on my PC and all OK!!! In FTP I see the archives that the alcatel installer request.
