Remote Forward

Post by JHades »

I try to execute a Remote Forward (with a prefix *...) from my phone to a Number defined as a Network No, but I always get: 'This action is not allowed'. Remote forwarding to a user is no problem.

Is the first foward impossible to do?

1) Is it possible to activate the forwarding directly on the set?

2) There are two types of this feature. Which do you use?
I use the mode which expect the source and target: *15 <targetnumber> <ownnumber> <password>
So if I wanna forward my set 1000 to 2000 from 3000 I have to enter: *15 2000 1000 0000
Is it a local station or in network.
(In network there are somtimes problems to enter the password...)

 Can't edit my post again...

If not known here the Flag:

Follow-Me on Remote forwarding under System > Other System Param.

True => No target number (It's always the set you're dial from)

Syntax for TRUE:
Prefix remote forward <Sourcenumber> <Password of Source>
Prefix cancel remote forward <Sourcenumber> <Password of Source>

Syntax for FALSE:
Prefix remote forward <Targetnumber> <Sourcenumber> <Password of Source>
Prefix cancel remote forward <Sourcenumber> <Password of Source>

Fowarding form the set towards such a number is no problem. people around here use it all the time. But some of them have multiple locations where they work from. So they must be able to forward their set at location A to a number X (network No) from location B.

When you use the prefix you get the question towards you want to forward the calls, after that you get the question for which user you want to set the feature. They don't need to enter a pasword, only if they erase the forward, a pasword is needed.

I hope 'my situation' is a bit clearer now, :)

Forwardinh should normally work. :?
Is X25 working correctly and all the concerned numbers are known in both nodes?
Mmh. Does it work for other sets?
Did you check the phone facility cat?
Is there a (maybe) a loop in the forwardins? (But normally loops are possible in network and automatically stopped after 5 jumps)

Does it work with a "fresh created" set?

I checked the phone facility cat and the feature is working for other sets. I can't figure out what is going wrong.

Wait a little bit.. I am about to release this summer an application that will allow your user to schedule forwards on their sets. I have a couple of bugs to fix.. But if there is any volunteers, I might release the application earlier so you can give me your advice..

Remote Forward: follow -up

Post by alaint73 »

Elliot,
I have a similar problem, I can perform a forward to external number from my own set using the mode mode: <FWD Prefx> <targetnumber> <ownnumber>. ( meanning in the COS, the forward to external # is allowed!)
but whenever I try the remote forward feature ( either by IPT keys or remote Forward prefix) using the mode mode: <RMT FWD Prefx> <targetnumber> <ownnumber>. I always have the message " the number you have dialed is not authorized" when I'm prompte to dial the station number I require, so somehow OXE is expecting a local extension as target destination.

and by attempting to use the "Follow-Me on Remote forwarding" feature, it's not convenient if you want to remote forward your internal extension to an outside number ( given that you cannot dial such a <RMT FWD Prefx> from an external phone, like from your cell phone).
Any idea? it looks like this remote forward do not accept external # as target number.
regards
