Time is slipping

Post by jiggsy »

We have pcx4400 with alcatel 4035 handsets connected. Daily the time slips around one minute. I go into the omnivista 4760 and reset the time and date.

Has anybody else encountered time slipping problems.

Hi jiggsy,

welcome to our forum.

What's the version you're running there?

I think I've seen this documented in a s/w install (somewhere) when iwas rummaging through for something else. If I remember correctly, it is a bug.

Also, are you using time synchro from the carrier?

Goldy. Thnx for you quick response.

Version = e2.502 (providing thats the right number!!!!)

As for your question "are you using time synchro from the carrier?"

I'm not too sure what you mean. But, I guess thtat it is part of an internal clock on the PCX.

THanks

system can be set to sync the time & date from a carrier on the ISDN, it is set under shelf/board/digital access (network date time update). Then it is automatically set on incoming call to the PCX.

Also, is your timezone configured ok, it is alot easier to set now because of Linux :D

I think the bug was from an earlier release that I was thinking of, although, they have been known to reappear

see how you go

You can have right time in two ways:
- ISDN connection with PTT - board/digital access - Network data time update=yes.
During outgoing call (you can see with t3 tool) you will receive message "Connect" with data and time and PBX will use this time.
Next one -
you have Enterprise (e2.502) and you can use NTP (network timing protocol) for time update.

Hi all,

3 solutions :

- NTP if your release is R5.1 or R6
- Synchronize via your ISDN provider if it has this feature..
- I've an old documentation to synchrinize your PABX with a time's server via the protocol 'daytime'.
