CDR files

Post by pittas »

Help !! Our PABX 4400 admin has left the company and I have been thrown in at the deep end.

I only know a basic knowledge of the system like how to create users via OmniVista.

My Director has asked me to get CDR files from the PABX. As I understand these are like a log of each call? Right

Any advice on how I can get to these files perhpas by FTP to the system and where they are located?

I hope there is a kind soul out there who can help me out.

Thanks

Well first of all tell your director t send you to a 4400 Admin Course :p

If i'm not wrong CDR is an option of the output of the tarification tickets, do you have any software that handles your calling traffic? Maybe that is the Traffic your smart boss is asking for. Maybe with the help of 4760, if you have it, you can also obtain that info

Also this post may help you:

Thanks cavagnaro, the post you have lined me to seems to be what is needed. I hope my boss agrees!!

I dont believe that we have a software as you mention that handles this calling traffic.

While searching on the internet I came across a document mentioning a tool called Omnivista 4760 Ticket Collector. From the description it seems that I could do this using some kind of GUI. It states that it is available in Omnivista 4760 v2.1 and up. Have you come accross this before (see page 8 of the below PDF file)

Thanks again.

Ominivista is the one that Alcatel sells, its a complete suite including PBX management, tickets, reports, etc.

In our company we have developed one customized that do exactly the same and also controls minutes available per user. Not very hard to achieve with basic programming skills.

So as you don't necesarily need the 4760 maybe you can convert your CDR files to something more handeable for your self. First find with your provider if you have a valid license for 4760, if yes you only need to install the software on a dedicated PC.

Really hope your boss send you to a basic 4400/OXE configuration course.
