Re: How can I tell how many compressors are on INTIP card?
are specific INTIP broads and compressors bound to IP phones or are they used by anyone making calls within your IP network?
Also what does transit not provided on this board mean?

Re: How can I tell how many compressors are on INTIP card?
ip phones have their own compressors. So 2 IP phones talking to each other will not use any INTIP or GD/GA compressors
But if an IP user wants to dial out on a T2 trunk, then 1 system compressor is required. Similarly, if a TDM user wantto talk with an IP user, 1 system compressor will be needed.
Transit thing - i'm not 100 sure. Open to another guru

Re: How can I tell how many compressors are on INTIP card?
For transit - depends of "Direct RTP" and type of used codecs.
If direct RTP=no - for transit connection used 2 codecs, if Direct RTP=yes - 0.
But f.e. if you have incoming call with G723 and outgoing G729 - will be used 2 codecs.
But in this case we need allow multialgorithm for compression.
In any case numbers of compressors on INT-IP board depends of point of view - present (type and numbers of daughter board - GIP6A, GIP6. GIP4-1, GIP4-4), allowed (OPS locks for G723 and G729 codecs), managed (mgr - shelf/board - for INTIP board you need to declear compressors for gateway and IP devices), used (compvisu lio - you can see compressors, will be compressors devided for GW and IP devices depends of "Direct RTP" item).

Re: How can I tell how many compressors are on INTIP card?
Hi does any one have any document that suggests 2 codec resources of the intip card would be used if the call is compressed on G.729 and just one resource for G.711???

Re: How can I tell how many compressors are on INTIP card?
Hi all,
i wonder if (based on my capture below) my INTIP3A that got 0ARMAD* (on DSP) is normal?
because i got the '*' sign (transit is not provided on this board).
while my INTIPA is normal (1GIP41), without '*' sign?

Re: How can I tell how many compressors are on INTIP card?
It turns out that on 1st call (free/max : 29/30) it works fine,
But on 2nd call (free/max : 28/30), the 2nd call only one way conversation.
which is ip phone cannot hear analog phone user's voice but analog user can hear ip phone user's voice.
anyone have any idea?
all suggestion are welcome.
many thank's
bets regards,
Johnson

Re: How can I tell how many compressors are on INTIP card?
- With INTIP3 Only ARMADA daughter boards are accepted. GIP4 and GIP6 are not supported.
− With 30 compression resources embedded on the INTIP3 boards, the ARMADA daughter board is not mandatory on a INTIP3.
- the INTIP3 board doesn’t support transit function. So the direct RTP mode is the only mode to take into account.
Hope this helps

Re: How can I tell how many compressors are on INTIP card?
for point 1 and 2, i'm fully understand,
but i still wonder regarding point 3, are all INTIP3 board doesn't support transit function or only on my case?
what value should i set for the direct RTP parameter? is it true / false?
is the parameter located on "mgr > ip > ip parameter > Direct RTP For H323 Terminals" for OXE r9.1?
many thank's
