T1 CAS configuration

Post by Dennis »

Has anyone ever had to configure a "Tech Path" T1 circuit through Paetec using the star ANI service?

When I trace incoming calls on this circuit I see numbers 11,6,10,3,8,9,10,1, but I'm told that we should only be receiving 4 digits.

These numbers do not have anything to do with our dialing plan and we CAN dial out but get a busy signal when dialing in.

Did you set up the translator ?
What do you see EXACTLY when you do a trace, for CALLED_NUMBER ?

The translator was set up properly and I believe that the traces that I had done show the number calling.

As it turns out, this circuit is a T1 CAS with the star ANI service and I'm told that Alcatel does not support this service with a T1 CAS. Do you know if this is true?

It sounds like we will need to get a PRI if we want to maintain caller ID and this will of course cost us more money.

ANI is not supported. We used an Adtran 5500 to translate incoming T1 CAS to PRI.
