8008 and 8018 Firmware and SIP

Good day all,
I am new to this forum, but not new to IP telephony.

We are a provider and have a number of customers using Alcatel 8008 and 8018 handsets and they like them and want to keep using them. They have asked if we can make them work on our platforms.

I procured a couple of 8008 and 8018 handsets and have set them to SIP mode. Version 1.20.4.1. However they do not seem to register to any of our systems.

When I go only I see there is a CE version of these phones.

So I guess my questions are -

1. Are these non-CE versions locked / proprietary
2. If not, what am I missing here ?
3. I am guessing they are proprietary because the default web management password in the documentation (123456) does not work
4. Can I convert them to an image that does support SIP

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated as I have spent a few weeks on this and can’t get anywhere.
