OXE / ALE 400 - How to know who is on the phone with whom
OXE / ALE 400 - How to know who is on the phone with whom
Hi, I am just asking, I'm not a phone technician. As the title says, I told our business partner who sold us OXE and several ALE400 and ale 2 that with our old Astra Matra we were able from a specific phone to know who is on the phone with whom by pressing the extension supervisor key. He told us that with OXE maybe it's not possible.
Frankly I doubt.
I don't know technically in the phone world how is it called this specific feature/ service.
Is it possible?
Thank you.

Menu / Information.
This will tell you what extension is the phone, and the phonebook name.

Re: OXE / ALE 400 - How to know who is on the phone with whom
Frank, that is not what I asked.
What I am asking is:
- Two collegues of mine, john and sarah, are talking to each other through the phone.
- My boss calls John and hears the busy tone.
- He then calls the attendant and asks "can you tell me with whom is talking John, I need to talk to him asap".
- The attendant by pressing a key can obtain that info and pass it to the boss.
Is this possibile? Thank you.

Re: OXE / ALE 400 - How to know who is on the phone with whom
to get with whom john is connected you must use cli termstat option [4] : Demi-com informations.
for your case i will activate busy campon for your users so they can consult/Take the second call, you allow your boss to force the call in intercom mode so when john is speaking the boss can be connected and saying please hangup or take the second call
to achieve this see features COS
ps:for intercom mode u need digital/ip phone for caller/callee
like this you don't need to activate intrusion
in intercom only john will hear the boss , and the boss can only speak
inetrcom is also known as forced call in speaker phone

Re: OXE / ALE 400 - How to know who is on the phone with whom
Hi haroun,
could you please elaborate a bit further on the single steps to be taken?
I think that it is a bit overkill telling my receptionist (the attendant) to ssh the PBX and run cli commands.
Isn't there anything that can be done from the ALE-400 in order to obtain that info? She also has the supervisor modules attached to the ale-400.
Attendants already have the intrusion enabled. But they want to decide whether to use the intrusion and tell the user "please hangup" or not basing on the parts involved in the conversation. I.e. the collegue is talking with a client -> attendant does not use intrusion.
Thank you.

Re: OXE / ALE 400 - How to know who is on the phone with whom
hi
actually idon't have any ale-400 sets so i can't tell and i doub't that ALU has develloped such as feature as matra
but as i wrote you can use suffixes to achieve what you want : tell john to consult or take the second call when he's in comm
from sys doc datbase management
https://alcatelunleashed.com/DBMGT/html ... egory.html
Suffixes
For each attribute: 0 for NO, 1 for YES, and % for any value.
Broker Call
The subscriber that has a correspondent on line and another on hold can pass alternately from one to the other.
Three-Party conference
The three party conference is available for all sets which have the corresponding COS. At least one correspondent must be local.
Intrude
If his respective COS allow it, subscriber A can enter during the course of the conversation of subscriber B that he/she has called.
Ringback on free or busy set
Any subscriber calling a digital set (40xx and 43xx) which is busy, or free and is not answered, can request the automatic call back by dialling a suffix (automatic call-back on free/busy).
Waiting Camp-on
From a classic or digital set, when a busy, internal set is called, the subscriber dials the waiting camp-on suffix. The called party hears a communication camp-on signal. They can consult this camp-on by dialling the camp-on consultation suffix.
Loudspeaker paging
The subscriber is authorized to transmit a spoken message without a reply to digital sets which are equipped with a speaker.
Call announcement
The subscriber who has this privilege can force the answer of the called-party by merely pressing a key. This function involves an activation of the speaker on the called set ; the called party hears the voice of the caller, he may take the call.
Enquiry Call
During a communication, the subscriber can go into conversation with another correspondent (either to take a waiting call, or to call another correspondent) without losing the first communication.
i don' know for your installation but users come with Phone features class of service n° 0 witch allow user for those suffixes (when in comm)

Re: OXE / ALE 400 - How to know who is on the phone with whom
Ok @haroun, very nice of you. I try to recap:
- All my users have COS 0. This COS has "Call announce through speaker" at 0.
- My boss and attendants have to be assigned a COS (for instance) 1
- In COS 1 I need to set "Call announce through speaker" to 1
- Camp-on settings, if defaults have not been touched, is already ok.
Correct?
As further details that may give you some more insight and eventual hints for me:
- All my users have SIP phones (ALE-2) and GAP DECT phones (GAP, not AGAP). Thay have COS 0.
- Ale-2 phones by default works with "two lines".
- My boss and attendants have IP phones (ALE-400). Thay have COS 1.
Thank you.
