If we talk about OmniPCX Enterprise - what do you mean - reset to factory defaults?
Create empty database and netadmin?
If you know CPU IP address - more easy to use telnet.

Re: OmniPCX Office - Console cable question
many thanks. I have a standard console cable (blue ribbon type) rj45 to db 9 female, connecting to a male db9 to usb serial converter. Is the console cable for the Omnipcx not the standard type of console cable? I have configured as you say but no luck.
Thanks for your help.
Julian

Re: OmniPCX Office - Console cable question
If you have blue Cisco cable - remove RG45 and install new (rotate 180 degrees)

Re: OmniPCX Office - Console cable question
Thanks but I dont quite understand your helpful comment.
I also have a usb to rj45 serial converter cable and the cisco db9female to rj45 converter. Ive tried most combinations of the cables I have but no luck yet!
my next effort is likely to be usb serial convefrter to rj45, plug that into the oracle db9 to rj45 then connect to db9 to rj45 to connect into config port.
I watched a video on how to connect and tried this method but it doesnt work.
Any further thoughts welcome. Clifton suspension bridge is nearby. I may be jumping off it soon!

Re: OmniPCX Office - Console cable question
Many thanks. Im not sure pins are ok as i have a number of cables!
I expect its a pin issue. Can a cable be bought with the correct pins? Guess system came with one but I dont have it.
Many thanks
Julian

Re: OmniPCX Office - Console cable question
I purchased a USB to RJ45 (Cisco Console) cable from Amazon and I cannot get a response from an OmniPCX (Compact Edition) we have in our office.
I wont post the link to the Amazon cable out of respect for the forum - but here are the specifications)
Specifications
Connecting Point: (1-CTS, 2-DSR, 3-RXD, 4-GND, 5-GND, 6-TXD, 7-DTR, 8-RTS)
Support Android, Support Win 8, Win 7, XP, 2000, Linix, Mac OS
Support EEPROM, support Vendor ID re-write, support Mprog3.5
Support FTDI VCP driver and D2XX driver
Should this cable establish a serial connection with an OmniPCX Compact?
