Outgoing Lines Hunging

Post by bzaghwan »

The problem is related to outgoing trunks which are always being hanging after finishing calls.
The PABX linked to PSTN vie CO lines (NDDI Board) of which the release signal dose not coming from PSTN to PABX in order to release the call which is causing hang of the trunk from PABX side only.

My question is if is there any other reason to hung the outgoing lines, if not I would like to know if is there any solution to detect the hung trunk and put in-service again automatically

Thanks

For NDDI lines was a problem, lines goes to out services state. The solution - in external sevices category (trunk signaling) timer "Unavailable Time Between 2 Seizes" must be 20 (2 sec) or 25. If you decrease this timer lines becomes out of services (sometimes).

A question. When the public side goes on hook do you hear anything? If the public carrier sends some tone then the PBX should be configured to detect that tone and should know that it is the on hook tone so that the trunk must be released and go to F (free state).

There are some parameters that should be verified in order to have all these things working properly.

1. The PBX must detect the ON HOOK tone.
Go to mgr/System/Other System Parameters and change the value of the parameter No detect.of On-hook tone to FALSE, so that it can detect the ON HOOK tone. By default the value is True (so that it doesn't detect the ON HOOK tone).
mgr/System/Other System Parameters
No detect.of On-hook tone + False

2. Configure the times that the tone sent by the carrier is in PULSE state and in SILENCE state
The ON HOOK tone tipically is similar to the busy tone with PULSES and SILENCES repeating continiously.
The PBX detects that the audio signal is an ON HOOK tone when the signal received is between the limit values of TONE and SILENCE specified in the PBX.
This is configured in
mgr/System/Tone detector parameters

On-hook tone

Number of periods (On-hook) : 3
Minimal pulse timer (On-hook) : 40
Maximal pulse timer (On-hook) : 60
Minimal silence timer (On-hook) : 40
Maximal silence timer (On-hook) : 60

Note that the values are specified in units of 1/100 second (not in units of 1/10 seconds as used in other sections of the Alcatel 4400 configuration). So 10 = 0.1 seconds and 100 = 1 second.
In this section also can be configured other tones as ringback tone and busy tone.

Hope this helps you.

Roger.

Try to change the timer no. ( 38 ) from 1200 to 400 or 300 and not less , this timer for checking the o/s line and make them availabel if they are.

if you manage this timer (38 ) for example to 300, thats mean that the system will check the lines every 30 seconds.

Just wondering.. Did you try to change the ground / loop start in the COS of the trunk option ?

Because I had the same problem, and it worked for me ..
