Factory Reset Alcatel OmniPCX Office Devices

Post by AlcatelNewbie1 »

I’m an absolute newbie when it comes to telephone hardware and would appreciate the community’s close guidance on the following.

I have 2 devices - an Alcatel OmniPCX Office Medium and an OmniPCX Office Small.

I would like to do the following:
a) Connect the Small to the Medium. It sounds silly, but I can’t figure out what LAN ports attach the 2 devices and have not found documentation or images online.
b) Once they are connected, reset both devices to factory defaults and later sell them. I do not want to sell them with the previous client’s configs/data on it, if possible.

With regards to resetting the devices, I’ve managed to do the following:
  • Ping the default IP address of the Medium device (192.168.92.246)
  • Download and install OMC v10.2.14.1
  • Run OMC in Expert mode and attempt a LAN/WAN connection to the above IP.
  • Using the default admin password (pbxk1064), it returns the error:
HTTPS [login.4] – Soap login error – Error Code – I assume that means the password was incorrect.
Please can someone advise how to reset the devices?

If the password is incorrect you will get a "...wrong password" error message. Check your PC network parameters and use a recent OMC or at least one matching the same release date as the SW installed on the PBX. Then go to "System Miscellaneous/System Reset" an make a cold reset to erase previous user configuration.

Are you sure OXOs SW version works with OMC over HTTPS?
It could be an older release which works over FTP.
