Operate IP Phone through VPN
Dear All
we installed ALE PBX in the site with range 192.168.3.0/24 and change the PBX’s IP and everything is well in the same site and all IP Phones are working fine.
We have remote site with range 192.168.1.0/24 and connected VPN IPsec to the 192.168.3.0/24 site. We can Ping the Pbx from the remote site but the IP Phones in remote site are not working. (Physical out of service )
How can we operate IP Phones in the remote site within PBX and VPN connection was established and no network issue.
thanks

Re: Operate IP Phone through VPN
I'm not too familiar with VoIP and this phone system as well but from what I've seen is that all the phones connect to the phone gateway and that is how they can communicate to each other. Each phone is assigned their own IP and then it is connected to the gateway. I'm not sure if they need to be or don't need to be on the same IP subnet.
VPN traffic works both ways. I can ping the remote office from main office and vice versa.
Each site uses it's own router for internet.
There are firewalls set up but I have allowed all traffic from the main office to go to the remote office and vice versa for now.

IP phones - SIP or IPTouch?
If you have IPTouch - you have info about error (no tftp response or something else).
For IP phone:
- must be declared IP parameters (address, mask, gateway, tftp server)
- IP routing must works in both direction
- check firewall rules - f.e. tftp traffic must not be forbidden.

Re: Operate IP Phone through VPN
then on the remote side the phones will not get enough infos. the phone does not know the ip of the pbx on the other side. unfortunetly i have no idea how to solve this with 8001SIP.
Maybe, if there are only a few phone you can manage them static, and put the sip server(pbx) and the user credentials manually
