Re: 4XX8EE Phones with Asterisk
There are specific codes like Alcatel vendor ID to be included.
Please read basic DHCP server doc and later you can test

And doesn't allow it. Or your set type is not supported. Not all 40x8 can go sip, only some editions.

Re: 4XX8EE Phones with Asterisk
hello distinguished gurus;
I have 15 iptouch 4068EE phones and an installed and working asterisk server. I read from this thread that it is possible to make 4008 and 4018 work with the asterisk sip server by obtaining and loading the sipconfig.text file to the tftp server in your network where the phones have to download their configurations at boot time. I have two questions
1) Does the above process still apply to my iptouch 4068EE phones; if yes am i oblige to use the same sipconfig.txt and/or sipconfig-macaddress.txfile sited above??
2) can someone help me with a detailed step by step procedure on how to setup and upload the config files to my tftp server??
Thanks very much in advance

Re: 4XX8EE Phones with Asterisk
I've just replaced my Alcatel PABX with a SIP one and trying to get my 4018EE, 4028EE & one 4038EE sets to work in SIP mode.
I've put my sipconfig.txt, sipconfig-MACADDR.txt as well as the 4018 & 4028 bin files in the tftp root folder of the PABX and the phones work +/- well. The only things are that:
1. I get a "file not found" after the "Updating Load" step (is the absence of the lanpbx.cfg in the tftproot folder the cause?), and
2. I can't search by extension name on the phones. I can only do so on the local phone directory.
3. The "programmable" keys don't work.
Grateful if someone could assist.
