Unknown Mailbox number

Post by DePaulPrep »

I set up a new employee with an unused extension #. He can call out and receive calls from this extension #, but calls will not go into voice mail if he does not answer. The message is: unknown mailbox #.

We are using Alcatel Omni Vista 4760 (Omni-01); VM 4645. The extension # is listed under users when I look it up in Omni Vista 4760/configuration/PCX.
However, when I use Eva_tool (Option #1, then Option #5) = List mailboxes and nodes, the extension # does not exist?

How do I correct this?
Thanks,
KH

Remove the number under VM and then validate, then re create it and see if it creates another mailbox for you

When user was created - VM number was declared in user parameters or not?

I am learning as I go. The person who handled this left us with only general instructions.

Oldboy: I do not know how to remove a # and then re create it. I deleted a mailbox in Eva_tool and was unable to add it back?

vad: Looks like the VM # is in the user parameters.

"vad: Looks like the VM # is in the user parameters."
Not clear. User, items - Voice Mail Dir. No (number allocated for VM in PBX) and VM type - declared?
Number or declared (by default - absent) or not. Looks like - strange expresion.

Yes, the Voice mail dir. no. is allocated for VM in PBX and the VM type is declared. However, when I use Eva_tool (Option #1, then Option #5) = List mailboxes and nodes, the Voice mail dir. no. does not exist? Does that make a difference?

Please go to the user and see if the voicemail number is attached to the user.

If it is, blank it by putting "" and save. Then pit back the VM number.
