A virtual IP for two or more servers

I recall that an Alcatel rep was mentioning a feature when you could configure a single IP address to redistribute traffic to several hosts - can't find it in documentation. I thought it was along the lines of VRRP, but it's not.

The closest protocol I found is CARP - Common Address Redundancy Protocol, doesn't seem to be supported by ALU.

Seems like SLB will do, although I'd prefer a hot-standby vs load balancing - but, well...
