checking traffic direction
checking traffic direction
Is there some commands to run to check traffic direction on a lag? Trying to look into a 7450 ring and check traffic flow. Sure this can be done easier with the SAM software but don't have that at this time.
Re: checking traffic direction
Not 100% certain about the 7450, but what about the monitor command?
- monitor
card - Monitor command for Card
ccag - Monitor traffic statistics for CCAG ports
cpm-filter + Monitor commands for CPM filters
eth-cfm + Monitor commands for ETH-CFM
filter + Monitor commands for filters
lag - Monitor traffic statistics for LAG ports
management-acc* + Monitor commands for management-access filters
port + Monitor port traffic statistics
qos + Monitor commands for QoS
router + Monitor commands for virtual router instance
service + Monitor commands for services
test-oam + Monitor commands for Operations, Administration, and
Maintenance

Re: checking traffic direction
thanks the commands are helpful
Re: checking traffic direction
Hi,
If a service is under lag of two 10Gb ports. Under lag one port is active; and the other is in standby fro redundancy. Briefly, physical capacity of LAG is 20 Gb but active only 10 Gb
For example,
Lag-id Port-id Adm Act/Stdby Opr Description
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
100(e) up up
!"
4/2/1 up standby down " <<<<<<< Down 10 Gb
"
5/1/2 up active up <<<<<<< Up 10 Gb
My question ;
When we monitor a service under the lag with rate command, how can we intrepret the quantity of the traffic ? Is it 20 Gb or 10 Gb link ?
monitor service id 1 sap rate lag-100:1.1 rate
At time t = 11 sec (Mode: Rate)
