Hello

I have encoutered problems with a 4028. Setup is OK, the phone can call, receive calls but often reboot after trying to download a binary from the OXE. I've got the message "binary download..failed".

I am a newbie on voip so i'm requesting some help.

OXE R7.1

Behind a WAN line?
MTU size problem?
Which firmware version has the phone and which version the system? (downstat i)

Suggestion:
Switch to root user and type: tcpdump -s 1500 -w /tmpd/4038.pcap
Wait for the reset. Stop the capture using Ctrl+# or Ctrl+C and download
the file /tmpd/4038.pcap and open it on your PC using Wireshark.
Then add a filter ip.addr == your.phone.ip.addr save the displayed messages
and upload the file here.

Are you using Gbit IP phone (new version of IP phone which support Gbit connection). The error of "binary download..failed". is cause by OXE software.

There are informations about the supported software patch in BP web site (rls 6.2&7.1).

Yeah. This could be the reason.

Following TC1051 "Compatibility of IP Touch 40x8 extended edition" you need at least
R6.2 f3.301.45
R7.1 f5.401.29.a
R8.0 g1.302.11.b
R8.0.1 g1.503.11

But there were some bugs in R7.1 f5.401.29.a - so you have to use at least R7.1 f5.401.31 if you have such a phone.

Try to set 'reset for update authorised = no' in TSC/IP user parameters. See if it still reboots.

Regards.

He is talking about Asterisk Tot, not OXE, he posted already on another thread. Nothing to do with OXE
