Bell port in 4018

Post by Rocco_DUP »

Hello,

Does anyone knows the function of the RJ45 port with a picture of a bell at the bottom of the Alcatel 4018 phone? Its function is to connect a headset or an external loudspeaker?

Thanks

Think this is the one: 3GV28050AA

Module relaying the ringing signal towards an external device for Alcatel-
Lucent IP Touch and Digital phones‚ compatible with Reflexes™ range‚ with
RJ11/RJ11 3m cable‚ without power supply

Here's some info on the bell port. I think it's okay to post here as it is equipment for sale. I also will attach a circuit I made a few years ago that uses it. I guess Cav or Knigh will remove if need be.

cav:Yup, no attachs from Alcatel by the moment.

I thought it may have been an issue Cav, But what about the circuit I designed a few years ago. this was by pulling a phone apart before doc's were at hand. I guess it's not copyrighted as I never applied for one :D

I will wait for the go ahead before I post as I don't want to upset anyone :D :D :D :D :D

If you made the doc without extracting any pages or images from Alcatel documentation we are cool.

Here it is. Please note that I have never got around to doing a final fix for the issue of false triggering if you touch the circuit board. This is not really an issue if you put the finished circuit into a box of some sort.
