SIP - DTMF inband to rfc/sipinfo

Post by krzysioD »

Strange issue:

i've got some trunk with broken DTMF, they came in-band - but well SDP tells both: inband, out of band.
I need to decode DTMF in audio, and put them back to sip.
Is our old OXE capable of this?
I could use old approach "Z to NDDI" but on NPRA-E - it's not very scalable.

Any one had similar issue ?

Hi.
Since R12.2 OXE supports RFC 4733 (former RFC 2833) OR in band DTMF
For outgoing calls the choice is done on the configuration of the sip gw.
For incomming, dependes of the contents of the SDP offer received on the INVITE. If payload x, then OXE uses RFC 4733. If none, then in-bound
Note that if inbound then compressors are needed.

Yes. i think compressors in both ways, so - intip3 w/ 3 armada =120 channels cut in the half = 60 channels.

Maybe- any one has used ?

:) It's rebranded AudioCodes soft SBC. And as any AudioCodes it's not cheap.

Hmm may be easier to persuade an opposite party to provide single DTMF choice in SDP? Or chane an order?
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Hi Sir @alex,

I am stuck in situation where the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise is connected to MATRIX SARVAM UCS.
MATRIX SARVAM UCS is a SIP Gateway connected to Motorola Telephone Interconnect Gateway connected to TETRA RF Network.

There is SIP trunk between Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise PABX and MATRIX SARVAM UCS.
The call initiated from the Alcatel IP Phone to the Public Announcement System (PAS) gets matured.
The DTMF digits dialed from IP Phone to initiate the announcement is also accepted by the PAS System.

But when the call is initiated by the Motorola Radio to the PAS system, the call gets matured and connected, but for the DTMF digit dialed to initiate the announcement is showing no response.
DTMF Type set in the MATRIX SARVAM UCS is RTP (RFC 2833) & Payload is 97.
I have got the logs of the successful announcement from the IP Phone but don't know how to upload.

Please suggest.

Depends on number of channels needed, if transcoding is necessary or not, etc.

You can however install and configure free of charge - 3 channels for free out of the box for testing (just install a VE version)
