I applied this config and it cut everything on my switch.

We have public IP loaded onto this switch for internet routing to our end users.

We just do not want anyone to be able to access the switch but the layer 3 routing can still take place.

We are running some ALE 6450 and getting this error when they are connected to a Cisco Nexus Switch.

Below is our config and error log.

That did the trick for sure.

We are giving the a ip from our dhcp server.

I tried

no ip helper dhcp-snooping ip-source-filter port 1/1

but i get an error when trying to remove it.

I just need to have DHCP snooping set up on the switch and this is how it said to configure it in the manual. Do I need ip source filter enabled?

We are using these switches in a service provider network and just want to have DHCP snooping running so people cannot reverse a ...

It looks like it is blocking a Mac of some sort.

I removed the Mac data for security.

I was able to fix this. I found in the doc you need to enable the PVST+ to work with cisco switches.

We have a Cisco core switch for now and will replace it with a new ALE core soon.

We have a bunch of 6450 switches that we are connecting to the Cisco core, but we are facing issues with the spanning tree.

Do you know what commands are needed on the ALE switch for the spanning tree to work with ...

is there a way to also limit snmp traffic from the 172.16.1.0/24 subnet and the 172.16.5.0/24 subnet

What i really want to do is lock this switch down to the outside world and only allow those subnet access to the switch itself for login, snmp etc etc
