Add hardware

I will be adding a UAI8 board to a system. Before I reference the manual I though I'd ask here. Do I add the new board in Hardware, power down the system then insert the new board? I recall that a system would not load if the configured hardware does not exist.

In our shop OXO pressing the flashing message key or dialing 500 (voicemail hunt group) results in a busy with the message Not at moment. Tried a warm restart, the system never recovered. Powered off/on, system is back up but voicemail is still inaccessible. Would the Power CPU have to be replaced? ...

Removed the access code in Security - Passwords - Remote Access Code. Now voicemail remote access is possible.

Back in the shop we can simulate this. We plugged in an 8029 into the 4019's port and pressed the mute key, which is now lit. If we call the 4019, it's answered on the speaker. We can't turn the feature off on the 4019 by pressing the mute key. If we swap phones, temporarily having the 8029 in the 4...

I've heard of situations where a neighboring port with a defective phone or cable fault can cause a port not to come up. Not sure if being stuck at showing the firmware version is typical.
