4019 mute button cannot go off. Auto answering!

4019 mute button cannot go off. Auto answering!

Hi. I have an issue with 4019 phone.

The mute button (the button between the + and -) lights up constantly. Whenever this happens, any incoming calls will auto answer. It's behaving a little similar to an interphony feature I think. But I dont think 4019 has interphony features.
Anyway, the problem is I cant deactivate that button. I just couldnt make it go off irregardless everything I have tried on the phone. The user dont even know how it came on the first place also. I've tried changing phones, resetting the phone, doesnt work.

As of now, my only solution is to delete that user, recreate it and put it back in service and all is well.

Now, it is the fifth time happening already at different users.

What is happening? is this a bug?

Hmm... I think so.

I also had this issue on one of my sites once (don't remember the release), but recreated user like you said and didn't came back.

Lucky for you only happened once.

Anyway, over here the problem exists on Release 7.1 and 8.0.1.

Anyone got better solution?

Mine was 8.0.1. Try to upgrade to latest patch for 8.0.1 available on ABPS.

Confirmed this issue is a bug. Updated patch and it has fixed the problem and turned the mute button on 4019 to Interphony button.

FYI guy's, I have had this also and a fix I found was to put a headset key with interphony set to yes on the extn. When they get the fault they just press the headset key twice to turn interphony on the off. The issue seems to happen when the customer is joining an external conference call so I suspect it is a prefix code that causes it. With the above key there is no need to delete the phone but now I know its a bug I'll upgrade.

From what I have gathered from my source, this issue was fixed on the various Release version as mentioned below:

R8.0 ## g1.503.19
R9.0 ## h1.301.25
R7.0 ## f.1.401.35

So just patch up to the latest version and it should be fine.
