remove confuration parameters by means of a script.
Hello, Does anyone know if it's possible to remove values from the configuration part of the omnivista by means of a script?
When importing a text file I'm, from example, able to add a name to an extension or update a name from an extension. However I'm not able to remove the name from the extension. In my case I need to remove some mac addresses from the ip users.
On customer site I want to run a scipt every night to put some ip sets out of service by removing the mac address from the tsc ip user parameters. This way the users can enter there extension number on one of the available desks.
Does anyone know it this is possible ? and if so how?
Regards,
Rens

Re: remove confuration parameters by means of a script.
Hi. Perhaps not using 4760. Use mgr and the cron from Linux. Look in the forum about how to use mgr with command lines. There are many post about this.
An other idea is to use a command to put a set out to service. I never test it, and I don remember the command. Perhaps it is something like "outserv". Use this command and the cron.
Regards.

With 4760 can you not configure changes and schedule them to be applied at a later time?

Yes, you can. However you have to take into account that 4760 won`t delete anaything when you import. I just create or modify. Regards.torrentula wrote:With 4760 can you not configure changes and schedule them to be applied at a later time?

but however the execution of an oxe-cron-script should be more faster...

hello tgn, or anyone else? Any idea on how to delete these values?
A script on the OXE would also be a sollution but then I would need to check if the procesor is main or stand-by and updating the list with extensions would be much more difficult.
I still think a script scheduled on the 4760 would be the best sollution for me. It's much more easy to maintain and speed is no issue for me. (I'll run the script at night).

a dash ( - ) in the first column of the line, should be match for the delete action.Rens wrote:hello tgn, or anyone else? Any idea on how to delete these values?

Yes, I think that should be fine. Scheduling is the easiest way to do it. I set one up here, no problems.
Just clear the field mac@ in the export file & schedule an import at night.

The dash doesn't seem to work for me. What am I doing wrong?
I get the following error message:
[18:17:29] > Performing first pass on C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\delmac.txt ...
[18:17:29] > Cannot retrieve node value at line {0}, column {1}.
The file I
m trying to import contains the following:

The file I
m trying to import contains the following:
Code: Select all
Tsc Ip User
Node Users Directory Number Set Type Voice Coding Algorithm Terminal Ethernet Address IP Address IP Domain Number Use of volume in system Local volume (dB) IP-Softphone Emulation Reset For Update Authorized
- Oxe 2700 2700 4037 (4035 & TSC IP) Default Unused 0 YES NO YES
Re: remove confuration parameters by means of a script.
in this case forget the dash and clear only the mac-data.Rens wrote:Code: Select all

the dash is only used to delete a whole enty (for instance a user).
