Alcatel OS6350-P24 Firmware Update Failed

Post by markplaton »

Good day!

I would like to ask for assistance in performing a Firmware Update on my Alcatel Lucent OS3650-P24.

I have done this procedure in doing the Firmware Update:

1. Booting in Miniboot (pressing x at the switch startup)
2. On the Miniboot, I issued the command: sysNewfs "/flash"
3. I prepare the latest firmware for the OS6350 OS6350_6.7.2.99.R07_GA_Release on a USB Stick with the following directories:
/6350
/6350/certified (all files from OS6350 OS6350_6.7.2.99.R07_GA_Release is paste here)
4. I insert the USB Stick on the USB Port of the Switch.
5. Miniboot automatically detects the USB stick. (Bulk Device mounted at 480 Mbps. With 1 Logical Units at node 2)
6. Miniboot automatically perform a USB Disaster Recovery. (USB Disaster Recovery Activated)
7. After this step. I got this error (sysUsbDisasterRecoveryTask: ERROR: /uflash/<target>/certified not found. Exiting. Configure /uflash/<target>/certified and remount USB flash drive)

May I know why I'm getting this error?
Is there any wrong on the procedure that I'm doing?

PLEASE HELP!

Thank you in advance!

Hi,
you haven't done the "normal" update (you will find this in the release notes) - you have done a disaster recovery.
You can try the same with /6450/certified in the root of the usb stick (instead of /6350/certified there).
If this doesn't work you can use the attached document for help.

you don't need them...
there is a zip-file with all necessary img-files.

have you done the same mistake like markplaton ? This isn't the normal way for the update of a omniswitch. In what state is your switch if you start it (without interrupting)?
