Hello,
got a bit stuck here - The magic packet is sent out, and WOL is working when the computer is connected to a port that has the VLAN set as default. PC wakes up instantly. Fine.
When 802.1x and port mobility is used on a switchport in the very same switch, it doesn't work, even though the default vlan is the same.
I have tried to change the setting "vlan port 1/3 default vlan restore disable/enable", but to no luck.
Does anyone have some knowledge of this scenario?
My thought was that the WOL packet needs to be flooded out on the user networks too, since the mobile port will change to the user VLAN when computer authenticates, and I don't know how the switchport acts when an authenticated pc shuts down.
Any input on this matter would be highly appreciated!
Thanks,
/Richie

Re: Wake-on-LAN on Mobile port w. 802.1x
the restore command is for vlan rules not for 802.1x.
You can try the following:
802.1x slot/port direction in (instead of both)

Re: Wake-on-LAN on Mobile port w. 802.1x
Just to understand "802.1x slot/port direction in" will make ports opened for traffic in ?
Re: Wake-on-LAN on Mobile port w. 802.1x
I made some tests it seems to work .
I will confirm here .
Thanks Silvio

You open the port for out traffic (f.e. broadcast). In traffic has to be authenticated via dotx.
Thanks for your reply that this is working.

Hello Silvio,
thanks a lot for your help.
It works fine.
Ports are opened for output traffic and controlled for input.
Then wol works fine also
Thanks again
