OAW-4306 storage space

Post by Chaoslord »

Hi.
We have an OAW-4306 that we would like to upgrade to the latest firmware.
However, there is no more space in the /flash directory.
I have deleted all the files I dare delete.
Here is an output of the dir and show storage commands:

#dir

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 21234 Jan 12 16:03 default.cfg
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 0 Nov 23 2011 fieldCerts
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9708 Nov 23 2011 original.cfg

#show storage
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mtdblock11 156.0M 154.0M 2.0M 99% /flash
none 300.0M 2.8M 297.2M 1% /tmp
/dev/mtdblock9 50.0M 24.3M 25.7M 49% /mnt/img0
/dev/mtdblock10 50.0M 40.2M 9.8M 80% /mnt/img1

As you can see, the /flash dir is pretty full, and there is no room to upload new firmware.
How can I get more storage space?

Regards

You have to clear all old Dates (wrong updates, Images etc) also from the other two partitions.

Depending from your CPBoot-Release the following will work.

Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0
cpboot>
cpboot> wipe_out_flash
Erase: OK
cpboot> reset
-----------------------------------------------------------------
System will be rebooted in about 1 seconds..

Make a backup of your config before.

With CPBoot 1.1.0.0 (build 28907) it has worked - but with older (1.0) not.
I haven't found a way to update CPBoot. If the whipe not works at you you have to open a ticket at Alcatel. They will make a remote session.

Hi,

in the CPBoot 1.0.0.0 (build 21294) you have to use following string

----------------------------------------------------
cpboot> run wipe-out-flash
----------------------------------------------------

I became the Info from Silvio.
