Import Cisco Mibs into Omnivista

Post by netzi01 »

Hello,
i have a question. I will import some Cisco Mibs for a Cisco3560 Switch. I have found the Menue to import Mibs, but the answer fro Omnivsita is, that Omnivista can not see any Mib-File in the Directory ( .my in Cisco ). Is this generally possible ?

Kind Regards
Hartmut

Hi,
some years ago I had the same problem with mibs from Aruba/alcatel-wlan-controller. Here the answer from technical support that had worked at me:
"Make sure the MIB's should be transferred in ASCII format using a ftp server.(i.e The text format of the MIBs are intended for UNIX System. The next line character is a "carriage return and line feed". But with windows only carriage return is used. So the simple way to change the format is to use a windows ftp client and download the mibs from an ftp server using ascii transfer.)
Change the .my extensions to .mib extensions and import to Omnivista-"
Hope this will also work for cisco.
regards
Silvio
