Use of URL instead of IP in policy condition

Post by thermseeker »

Hello there

I have Omnivista 2500 running inside a restricted VLAN. It needs to regularly access the internet for several reasons, so I need to allow the IP addresses through the OS6900 which is our core switch. The thing is, I only have the URLs for the services OV2500 needs to access, and its related IPs change frequently. And the same is through for other applications I have running in my environment.

Is there a way to enter the URLs instead of the IP addresses in my set of rules?

Thanks
silvio

No, the switches don't support policies with url.

Use a security device for security, not a switch.
