PCS Release Upgrade

Post by Turlupin »

Hello,

We are planning to migrate nodes which are in R12.4 to R100.1 but we have a lot of PCS (~ 400).

I'm thinking about using some automation in the upgrade process of PCS card.
On BP, i've found the TC2338 ed.06 : R12 Remote installation of PCS

It seems it's possible to launch the upgrade of PCS directly from the card using a script.
The files are distributed via PC Installer (i can install several instance to parallelized the deployment) or via http(s)

Q1 : Does anyone know if this method could work for a release upgrade ? Or do we have to perform à classical remote download/installation from swinst to inactive partition and then make a switch ?
Q2 : someone has details about the installation from http(s) ?

Regards,

Turlupin

Hi,
Since you are going to upgrade to R100.1 (use of SOT, no more PC Installer), you should also read TC2456

As of 12.4 u dont need PC Installer (which still does work even though not supported ) or SOT, just download the version and patches for R100 in zip or iso and copy to PCS /tmpd and then use swinst 2/9/10 easy as.
