Hello,
I've put loopback-detection on a 6850.
I want to do that on a 6900, but it doesn't know the "loopback-detection enable" command.
Does it need to be done in a different way or does a 6900 not support the command.
Thanks in advance,
Arnaud
Loopback-detection on 6900?
Re: Loopback-detection on 6900?
According to my manual it should be in 6900 as well, was introduced with 7.3.4 and extended in 8.2.1
loopback-detection enable
loopback-detection port 1/1/1 enable
loopback-detection port 1/1/1-8 enable
loopback-detection enable
loopback-detection port 1/1/1 enable
loopback-detection port 1/1/1-8 enable
Re: Loopback-detection on 6900?
Yes in the manual it says that it should work. But it doesn't take the command and if we i hit the tab button it doesn't complete the command?
Also in the manual we saw that you can config a loopback-detection as Edge or SAP, but what is the difference?
Thanks in advance for answering,
Arnaud
Re: Loopback-detection on 6900?
It seams there is a mistake in the cli guide. In the specification guide 8.6.2 page 2-9 is written, that lbd is not supported at V72/C32 models. Do you have one of them? Also there is written that at 6900 (the others) lbd is supported at access-ports but ot at bridge ports. This are UNP ports for service-mapped (SBP) and vlan-mapped. I assume you don't use unp.

The device we use is a X20, but we do not use unp. I'v read that, when configuring unp port, you should also config mac auth. Is this really necessary?silvio wrote: ↑24 Feb 2020 14:11 It seams there is a mistake in the cli guide. Also read that it can be configured with auto-fabric protocols command, but unp has to be enabled.

Re: Loopback-detection on 6900?
Hi,
very strange than. I think you should open a ticket at alcatel. Up to now I haven't tested this command in 6900 with the newest release. I prefere to activate LBD at edge-switches ... and this is not the 6900.
If you configure unp ports than you CAN configure mac auth - but don't need.
Also with autofabric enabled you should be able to use the lbd command. Best practice (in my opinion) is to disable all the autofabric protocolls from the start.
