This log shows only start of installer. You see in it no BOOTP request sent form CPU.
It looks like it is not the latest one - PC installer keeps log for every time you start it.Check the time (and size) of syslog*.txt files to find the latest .Here is my log file. After BOOTP you see DHCP request and loading of linux.ram.After that CPU loads stage2.img

Code: Select all

I am not sure that it did boot up in this case.CPU just got an IP address from PC
You see only PC answers. It does not mean that CPU got them.
Check again my log.
Well, where is DHCPDISCOVER from CPU?

Amazing! Simply amazing!!! I started everything up (without changing anything) and it worked!! I managed to load version e25041. Thanks for your help, I did manage to discover some new things as I am more of a telecomms guy than an IT tech. Will try to load the other patches via swinst this morning.

All seems to have loaded ok. Will try to load database saved from a Release 3.2 CPU. We'll see how that goes.
Loading was easy, you just have to wait for prompts at the end. In fact I went out of the office to do a couple of jobs at the clients' site and came back and found it ready. Will let you know how it went.

Hi..

Let me know about this upgrade, because I am curious to know if your 3.2 is going to run on your 5.x :-)

Did upgrade on database rel 3.2 to 4.2; all went ok. Then I imported into CPU database (4.2) on the usr4/backups and left it there. I imported the new software locks. After import it will prompt you to start the Tel apllication. Do not start, just reboot, stop before tel appl starts and RUNMAO. All went ok. Only one glich!! With 4760 on the Internet explorer browser I cannot see all options, i.e, Translator only goes down one level. Why? :(
Besides all went ok.
