Re: Eva_tool error
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback Rob and Alex.
I have run a backup and saved all data onto the standby CPU_B via ftp.
Will arrange outage of CPU_A with client first and try remotely as I will need to shut the telephone application on CPU_A and then run Eva_tool FORMAT and then restore the "eva-msg". Correct me if I am wrong.
Cheers

Re: Eva_tool error
Hello Guys,
I am running version R9.1-i1.605-23-ln-c82 and got a similar error:
(101)cpua> Eva_tool
Grammar error or Eva_tool.dct corrupted

This procedure that you guys are mentioning about formatting the Eva partition , will affect the oxe's configuration or just the mail partition? I have never done this , i would like to know if this really works?
Thanks guys for the feedback.
Regards
Enrique

Re: Eva_tool error
It just reformats the 4645 mail partition. It didnt really fix my issue though. My problem got resolved after 2 reboots. I will try upgrading to the latest and greatest patch next time this happens and if the issue reoccurs, I will reload software on a new HD and replace.
Good luck. Let us know how it goes for you.

Re: Eva_tool error
Hi Swinstu,
Thanks for the feedback, just to be sure, while formatting this mail partition it would just affect vmail while formatting right? If so, i would need to negotiate some time for this downtime.

Re: Eva_tool error
Yes, if your running twin CPU system then switch telephone application off on system with voicemail, once system comes back up without telephone then run format. (then only there will be no voicemail available). Once CPU is ready start telephone application (reboot if necessary) and then bascul back.
If single CPU with 4645 on it then you require outage max 1 hour.

Re: Eva_tool error
Sometimes a reboot helps.
As workaround you can copy the file /usr2/oneshot/mtcl/Eva_tool.dct to /usr2/oneshot/mtcl/Eva_tool.dct.bak
Then you can start and use the Eva_tool - of course without dictionary file - but you can use and guess the options from the displayed variable names. (e.g. reset password option)
