OV 4760 - impossible to connect to comserver
Good morning guys,
I've been followed this forum from years (it is amazing) and it is first time that I'm opening a new topic.
I've searched in different threads about a problem that I'm experiencing with OV 4760 machine but still no luck, it doesn't work.
I'm able to login but when I click on "configure" on the name of the node, OV starts to think for 30 seconds more or less and then give me the message:
"Impossible to connect to ComServer in asynchronous mode"
As already reported in different threads, I've tried to disable / enable win firewall but no results. Has someone a suggestion to solve the problem?
Thanks,

Hi Haroun,
I've tried already to reboot the server with no luck. I've reinstalled Java just in case, but the same errors continue to appear.
I don't have a backup of the 4760. Thanks

Re: OV 4760 - impossible to connect to comserver
Hi Haroun,
thanks for the reply. All NMC services are up and running, by the way I've tried to reboot the NMC Comm service and it didn't start anymore. I've had to reboot the server to have it up and running again, I don't know if this is a normal behaviour. I would like to avoid to re-install the OV machine, also because I would like to understand what's wrong and what has caused the issue.

Thanks,
As morio was telling you, check the configuration of your Tree.
I would suggest to do this:
- Check the node and network number of you OXE:
Run 'listtool' to view the list of OXE commands
(101)oxesiteab>
the number 101 means Subnetwork 1 and Node number 01 = 101
Node Number (reserved) : 101 x
x Instance (reserved) : 1 x
x x
x Country + Venezuela x
x Node Number : 1 x
x Network Number : 1 x
x Line Lockout Incident Storage + False x
check this value in mgr /System/review-modify
then that do this validate the structure of your tree.
For recomendation create in order
Is mandatory your n°node subnetwk be the same of your oxe if not yet no works.
Validate the IP address and if you change the adfexc password is mandatory to set it in the configuration, this user works by FTP access to the OXE and synchronization of the configuration and download etc,etc,etc...
Well if anyone have a suggest please share with me!
regards!

can you connect by FTP and Telnet to your OXE?
If you cant to connect do this.
Try to connect to the IP Role, IP server A, IP server B:
f.x:
IP Role: 192.168.5.100
IP OxeA: 192.168.5.99
IP OxeB: 192.168.5.98
The IP Role replace the connection peer to peer of the own IP address of each oxe by one virtual.
In some cases, i saw, the OXE forbidden the access by the IP Role and is necessary to reboot just the Main
If you can access to the OxeA by FTP or telnet with your pass and user all be ok.
If you cant access to the OxeB by FTP or telnet with your pass and user, this server is the main.
Access to the OXE wich havent the issue and run the bascul command, this if for telnet.
If you have a ESXi virtualization or console do it directly.
If you have one server like main just program the hour in the day to do this.
this happend to me in OXE 10, 11 & 12.

Re: OV 4760 - impossible to connect to comserver
I think you have to check the compatibility of 4760 with respect to OXE version.
You could use 8770 server to work with the latest version of OXE

ACSE OXE
ACSE Omnivista 4760
