what is the meaning of the SID parameter in ipview application?(Silence descriptor)

From OXE System Documentation/IP-PCX networks/VoIP Quality Supervision:

SID (Silence Identification)
These are frames containing information on background noise. This information is used to
generate background noise on the receiver side.


I think this one describes how it works:
Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) Payload for Comfort Noise (CN)
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.
