guys, do you have any experiencie on high user density dect installations? I mean, sites where many base stations are requiered not for coverage purposes but for a high number of users?
my customer wants to move almost all their users from analog sets to dect; I performed a Dect S.S and verified that 7 base stations are requiered to cover any floor of their building and that any bs covers both upper and lower floor as weell.
the thing is that we are talking about 700 users on spread in 3 floors and obviously 7 bs are not going to be enough.
I did some calcs and (if done correctly) 15 RBS/DAPs are needed to support 300 users/floor.
Discarted IBS because seems to requiere around 25 BS / floor.
My concern is, are those 15 bs/floor going to interfere with each other?
Would you go with IP-DECT rather than RBS? is IP-DECt as good as RBS (or even close)?
Sorry for late reply but this will not work well in my opinion.
The DECT handset has internally a list of max 10 base stations.
I believe this could result in trouble if they are busy.
In case you have done it already let me know how it works.
Please keep also in mind that a distance of 3 m between two base stations and WLAN if exists is recommended
if I remember correctly
I forget to let you know that you have also keep in mind the number of timeslots and channels available over the available carriers.
This could be a problem too.
