Convert *.wav with crcvg

Hello, i am a newbie in this forum...

For convert a Wave File into a Voice guide I need a tool namend "crcvg"
It create a CRC and add it to the voice guide, so the OXE can use the new VG.

The search function on this forum has no result...

I would say that you have to use the Alcatel Audio Station to do that ..

No, I havenÂ´t an Alcatel Audio Station.

In the manual from the Alcatel University is the "crcvg" tool listet.
It seems that I can do that also with the Alcatel Audio Station. But I havenÂ´t this tool here.

Only Audio Station is the one that makes the msk files, the internal process in another story.

Can you specify in which manual you read about this tool?
In which environment this tool is used - Windows, Chorus, Linux?

crcvg is a fantastic tool, but the only downfall it only works on Unix systems, here is all you are required to do

FTP crcvg onto /usr2/mtcl
Then copy your wav file into usr7/vg/pc and run crcvg
then import into database using mgr.

The next challenge is to get crcvg. But i will see if i have it on any cpus in my work place.

This is an interesting topic.

What is this "mgr" that you mention?

We have a 4400 system with 4730 software (and CCS too for call centre).

I pulled a voice guide off the system and gave it a ".wav" extension. It played in media player, and I found what format the file was in.

I then created a wav and saved it in that format, I put it on the system.

However the system wouldn't see it, I assume the system needs the file added to it's database somehow, but I couldn't see how it was done.

In short, you can create the voice guide files in the correct format on any PC, it's just getting the system to see them.

I can give you the details on the voice guide format and how to convert using other tools if you like

Well if you use Windows (for what i see) you need to use Audio Station to convert your wav to a project (msk file) in order that your PBX can recognize it.

MGR is a administration tool, complex done via telnet. I don't recommend it for newbies, use your 4730 as usual for avoiding troubles unless you have taken some lesson on how to use it.

About this crcvg, i'm going to see if it is inside the PBX, sounds logic to me leave it there somewhere.

I haven't seen any msk files on the PBX. The voice guides are WAV files in a particular format, and you can create them without the Alcatel software. However the database bit is a different matter

With audio station you convert your WAV files to adecuate format for PBX. They need to be PCM 8bit 16Hz. And then convert them to MSK with audio station too, and then upload to your PBX (MSK files) and configure them in your PBX.
