Hi,
an OS6400-P24 is running out of ports and we have an OS6400-24 in stock. We don't need more PoE ports than the 24 we have in that location, so I thought, why not use the lately replaced non-PoE OS6400-24 which was in a stack, so we wouldn't have to buy anything. It has a slightly older firmware (6.4.4.463.R01 on the PoE, 6.4.4.410.R01 on the non-PoE), but it would be automatically updated when added as a stack member.
Is it possible to stack PoE and non PoE switches from the same family? And if so, can I hot add the switch or should I turn off both before plugging in the stack cables? And because I haven't created a stack on an already configured switch, how do I clear the existing config on the new switch and make it switch number 2 with the config of the existing one? Just "stack clear slot 2" and "reload all"?
Kind Regards,
meilon
