Impossible to load/flash new GA-2 board

Post by freedom »

I have receive 2 new GA-2 boards for extra compressors.
I have tried to flash the boards with PC Installer, but this didn't work!
With an 'old' GA it works fine.

Does anyone has the same problem or better, a solution??

I haven't had this problem yet!

Just an idea - and maybe you have already thought of it - but what version PC installer are you using?

2.22 seems to be the latest available on the BPWS.

I have used the latest PC Installer, V2.22.

Perhaps the binaries of this OXE release are wrong.
I have used F5401.15 (same as on the pbx).
Acording to TCO904 the board is compatible with F5401.11.e

It sounds like its time you had a word with AL via the mysterious eSR button on your BPWS login

edit: That is unless of course your magic fingers wake up or if someone else on here knows the answer!

Of course I already opened an eSR before I asked the question here.
But sometimes the answer from Unleashed is faster than from Alcatel-Lucent itself.......

And not all 'in the field' solved problems are know by tech support.

Hi,
Did you try to use the PBX itself as TFTP server and use lanpbxbuild in first place?

if I look at your screendump I did the same as you.
But in my case it didn't work :(

I connect the GD-2 to my pc using a cross-cable.
Set the PCInstaller to install a GD/GA like in the screendump.
The GD starts downloading the first two files like normal.
After this the board should be flashed, but this doesn't occure....

Below is a logfile where a colleague of mine tried to flash a GD-2 using Release 7.1 (F5.401.18):

Re: Impossible to load/flash new GA-2 board

Post by tot3nkopf »

That error message in the end is what I've got when trying to transform a CPU3 in a GD. I'm very currious what is the physical difference between the CPU(2,3), GD, GA, GA2 types of cards. I can assume that the flash memory chipset is diffrent but I'm not sure though.

Regards.
