Process to Update 2500 IPtouch phones to DOT1X TLS off

Post by JohnKolodziejski »

Our network team is rolling out 802.1x MAC authentication on all our enterprise switches. This is causing phones to reboot because on an Alcatel phone DOT1X TLS is enabled by default, I need it disabled.

We have about 2500 phones on 9 Nodes across the globe. The Nodes are running V11.2 and V12.1. We have 40X8 phones, 80X8 and 80X8s phones.

I am looking for a way to turn off DOT!X TLS on all the phones using a script, setting or file.

Does anyone have one?

I have already logged into each type of phone and turned of the DOT1X using the "DOT1X TLS off" command, but I really don't want to do this on 2500 phones individually, that is about 125 hours of work.

(101)xa001001> telnet XX.XX.XX.XX
Trying XX.XX.XX.XX...
Connected to XX.XX.XX.XX.
Escape character is '^]'.
NoePhone > dot1x
dot1x
#dot1x#
MD5 : DISABLED
TLS : ENABLED
EAP Login : ALCIPT
MAC Use : OFF
Server Auth : OFF
Access : UNAUTHORIZED
dot1x OK
NoePhone > dot1x tls off
dot1x tls off
#dot1x#
dot1x OK
NoePhone > dot1x
dot1x
#dot1x#
MD5 : DISABLED
TLS : DISABLED
EAP Login : ALCIPT
MAC Use : OFF
Server Auth : OFF
Access : UNAUTHORIZED
dot1x OK
NoePhone > reset

Frank, any ideas?

Hi, I need same script to change a lot of iptouch sets from static to dhcp mode dyn_alcatel

Have you find some hints?
I suppose script should be the same. Just change command to issue at iptouch's cli.

Regards
