to update your iptouch 4018 follow the following steps

- prepare a cross cable
- install a tftp server ( i used solarwinds tftp server )
- copy all files to the tftp root folder
- edit the sipconfig file
- configure your set ip parameters
- change restrict vlan to "no"
- change vlan to your vlan
- change tftp server 1 & 2 to the pc ip ( tftp server ip )
- restart your set ( you will see that it's updating )
- after doing that turnoff the set then connect it to computer by cross cable
- start the set in industrial mode by holding ( i + 1 + 2 + 3 ) while starting the set & release all buttons when leds lights
- set your pc ip to 192.168.1.6
- telnet 192.168.1.1
- type "verswitch" then press "Enter"
- restart the set
- while restarting press ( i + # ) to enter configuration mode
- go to software info
- now you can change NOE to SIP
- after changing to SIP restart the set after connecting normally to your network with the permanent network settengs
- make sure that your tftp server is working & all files are in the tftp root folder

i think it's ok now set updated & you can connect iptouch to freepbx or any SIP pbx

Hi Ahmed

Just something I'd like to check with you, even though we're two years later now: are the phones you're using 4018 or 4018EE variations. Since I've been working to get the non-EE to accept SIP (despite lack of official support). However what I'm finding is that the non-EE version has a 8MB DRAM chip, and the EE version is said to have a 16MB DRAM chip.
