Re: Completely erasing and reloading a switch
I'm just curious. Why would you need to remove the binaries ? Why not remove only the main configuration file ? This will be like a fresh start ! Removing everything, and being able to prove it is removed allows one to move the switch from one computer system to another. The trick is ensuring that ...

NAC and NAP
Has anyone figured out a way to integrate the OS6850E with the NPS Server for NAP enforcement. I am using the NPS for 802.1x already and it works great, and now we want to add NAC (NAP) enforcement as well. I see Access guardian uses HIC, but not sure if I need to have some other NAC server or if NP...

Re: NAC solutions
Hey Everyone,
Has anyone had any luck with trying Microsoft NPS and NAP with OS6850E Switches running 802.1x. I am trying to piece together a NAC solution, and it looks like I can do it with NAP, just now sure if I need to enable HIC or not.

Using special characters in passwords
I just thought I would post this so that others who had the same issue as myself could find the answer here. I was trying to use a $ in a password as the password is one that we use for consistency across builds for our customer. The OS6860E switch would not take the password, so after speaking with...

Re: VLAN Routing - Open certain ports only
Is VLAN 50 a cluster network or separated physically from the other VLANs, or must they all run on the same ports? Can VLANs 10, 20, and 30 talk unrestricted with VLAN 40 and Vice Versa? Can you provide a diagram of what you are trying to accomplish? That will help me provide a possible solution. I ...

Re: Active Directory Authentication
These helped me! just follow the instructions and you are GTG! hi here are some files you can use to configure your switches. This feature of Access Guardian in 6860 is different from 6450, you have to configure where your users are. follow this examples and you can configure what you want. best reg...

Re: Completely erasing and reloading a switch
Also, is there a special way to load the usb drive with the appropriate files, or do I just have to put them on it?

Re: Completely erasing and reloading a switch
Thank you for your reply. I have to remove everything from the switch. The memory needs to be blank. If I do that and have all of the files on a USB drive, will it load the switch operating system so that I can then reload the uboot, miniboot, and image files?
